Tom Jenkins

Consultant Physiotherapist

Clinical Director

Tom is an experienced Sports Physiotherapist who leads the clinical development of the practice. Ensuring we are staying at the cutting edge of physiotherapy research and technological advances. Tom’s clinical interest is in both exercise rehabilitation and innovative objective measurements throughout rehabilitation.

Tom has extensive experience as a Physiotherapist in professional sport, initially working full time in professional football with AFC Bournemouth (where he first met Dave) and Notts County FC. Then going onto work for a major watersports centre in Greece. Most recently Tom has worked as Head Physiotherapist for the Wales Mens National Hockey Squad which included travelling internationally. In 2021 Tom led the medical team that assisted the squad in qualifying for the Hockey World Cup. The first time in the 128 year history of welsh hockey a Mens side had achieved this.

Tom also worked as a Physiotherapist for Team Wales at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, staying onsite for the duration of the games. Tom provided medical support to help Welsh athletes  achieve their best on one of the most elite sporting stages.

Throughout this work in sport Tom noticed the huge difference between what physiotherapy care was available to elite athletes and what was available to everyone else. This has been one of the core aims of Physio Fitness. To provide all clients, regardless of age or activity levels, access to the same top quality care and facilities that an elite athlete would have.

Away from the clinic Tom is a keen golfer with a membership at Ferndown Golf Club and enjoys finding new spots to get his paddleboard in the water. Tom has ran the Rotterdam Marathon and also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
