Dave Mott

Consultant Physiotherapist

Managing Director

Dave is the founder and Managing Director of Physio Fitness. Dave leads the business on its constant progression and expansion, with the same aim since day one. To provide every single patient the highest quality care and promote healthy, happy lifestyles no matter what age.

Dave is a vastly experienced Physiotherapist and has been practicing for over 25 years. With two degrees to his name, one in Human Movement Studies and one in Physiotherapy, Dave has a wealth of knowledge to draw on. At the start of his career Dave worked as a full time Physiotherapist in professional football. He was on the medical team for Barnet, AFC Bournemouth and the England U18 squad. Treating many well known players throughout his time in football including Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Peter Crouch and Eddie Howe. As well as working in football Dave has also worked as a consultant Physiotherapist with the English Institute of Sport treating elite athletes from various disciplines to help rehabilitate them back from injury.

Dave then moved into private practice progressing to partner in a large multidisciplinary clinic before deciding to set up his own practice. Physio Fitness was then born in 2010 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Dave’s clinical interest is in degenerative injuries, sustained as part of the aging process, such as Arthritis. Dave is passionate in exploring various methods to promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle as we age allowing us to continue with our hobbies of choice. Over the last few years this has guided Dave towards cold water immersion and breathing techniques. Dave is a trained Wim Hof instructor and teaches this both at the clinic and across the country.

Away from the clinic Dave continues to play 11 a side football, is a keen cyclist and walker out in the Dorset countryside and escapes away to snowboard whenever he can.

Proudest career achievement

Michael Owen telling me I was a ‘great physio’.

He was only 18 at the time though so had probably not seen many other Physio’s before!!

Inspired By

Friend and fellow Physiotherapist Gary Lewin (Ex Arsenal and England Physio).

More recently Wim Hof who has inspired me to look at other ways to deal with pain and inflammation. Promoting my own physical health in different ways.

Fun Fact

I have an obsession and goal to be able to play 11 a side football until I am at least 80 years young!
